Australian Standard 1851-2012 - Maintenance Frequencies
The table below provides a summary of the Inspection and Testing frequencies for fire safety equipment. The standard details the types of preventative maintenance, checks and tests that must be performed by the technician.

Australian Standard 2293 is the standard used for Six Monthly and Annual inspection and testing of Emergency and Exit Lighting. Every six months, lights must be tested by simulating power failure and checking for correct operation for 90 minutes.
